“What was that?” he thought to himself. He looked around quickly and saw a sleigh with a man all dressed in red, pulled by 8 reindeer, one of them with a nose that glowed red. “People don’t fly in sleighs!” he said to himself. “This is very strange indeed”.

“Who could that possibly be” he wondered. “And what was that little man doing flying into town in the middle of the night?” “Maybe,” he thought, “this was an honored guest coming to Drumheller for my big party tomorrow.”

Tyrone decided that must be the answer and watched the sleigh land on a nearby rooftop. He saw the little red man get out of the sleigh carrying a sack and head for the chimney. Then, much to Tyrone’s surprise the little man jumped down the chimney and disappeared. “How unusual” Tyrone said to himself, “what a strange way to enter a house!”

Just as Tyrone closed his eyes again to get some sleep, he once again heard the ringing of the sleigh bells. He quickly looked over towards the house where the little man had jumped down the chimney and watched him getting back into the sleigh with his sack seemingly full and fly over to the next rooftop. Once again the little man jumped down the chimney and disappeared inside the house. Tyrone continued to keep his eye on the sleigh and sure enough in a few minutes out came the little man carrying his sack and once again flew to another rooftop.

“My goodness!” Tyrone exclaimed. “I think that little man must be a thief. What should I do!”  Tyrone called out to Tess telling her that there appeared to be a little man in a sleigh robbing all the wonderful people in Drumheller while they slept, asking her what to do.

Tess could not believe her good fortune. Quickly thinking that Tyrone’s confusion about Christmas would help her be rid of him once and for all said, “Oh my goodness Tyrone, I think you are right. We are going to have to do something about him ourselves, as it seems everyone is sleeping, and I have just the perfect plan. Next time that sleigh passes by you I think you should snatch it right out of the sky with your mouth. Then you can hold onto him until the morning when the townsfolk wake up and turn that thief in. I would do it myself but I certainly don’t have enough room in my mouth for a sleigh and 8 reindeer, so it will be up to you. Just think when everyone wakes up in the morning and you turn in the thief you will be a hero.”

Tyrone considered Tess’ plan and agreed with her. He certainly had to do something; he could not bear to see all these wonderful people robbed of all their valuables, especially the night before his big party.
